Tenants Assembly

Join us for the Grand Rapids Area Tenants Assembly, a citywide gathering of tenants and allies. (No landlords, property management representatives or cops will be allowed to participate.)
You must register to attend. Register at tinyurl.com/GRTenantPower
Tenants will be invited to share their experiences and connect with others dealing with similar issues. Through breakout sessions we will discuss tactics such as:
building tenant power
landlord callouts and confrontations
court solidarity and letter-writing
media campaigns
direct actions
eviction defense
state and local legislative campaigns
General information:
Lunch will be provided by Linc Up. Please note any food allergies or sensitivities on your registration form.
Accessibility: The Linc Up gallery is accessible to wheelchair users and those using mobility aids. There are accessible entrances both in the front and the back of the building, and bathrooms are wheelchair accessible. Linc Up is looking to get all-gender signage for bathrooms by the time of the event. Linc Up says scented products are not used in the bathrooms. Masks will be made available and masking is strongly encouraged for those who can mask.
There will also be English to Spanish Translation services available and Childcare will be provided. The event goes from 10 AM til 3 PM.

Grand Rapids Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (GRAARPR) and Community Owns Safety Coalition (COSC) are proud to announce, "A People's Hearing," a series of events intended to engage the Grand Rapids community in critical conversations about the future of safety in our city. We will focus our conversations on two critical safety issues impacting our communities at large: Housing & Policing. These hearings will observe participatory democracy, offering an inclusive stage for community members to voice their concerns, share experiences and collectively craft solutions to challenges.

The series will culminate with a focus on empowerment. GRAARPR and COSC will speak to their organizing efforts within the community, upcoming action items, and opportunities for the community to engage with the work. The evening will conclude with an interactive Q&A session, where attendees can engage with presenters, offer feedback, and participate in a collective reflection on the necessary next steps for our community.
